Some people are born entrepreneurs—and without a doubt, Toni’s one of them. From an early age, he arranged schoolyard events such as pay carnivals to earn spending money. Later, it was pubs and undergraduate Spring Break trips. His lifelong practice of taking ideas and making them real contributed, ultimately, to his most ambitious venture: founding excelHR with Kathryn Tremblay in 1989.

Toni discovered his passion for the HR world working as a consultant in a placement agency. He and Kathryn had a definite vision for their new firm—to make it a place where consultants would work together as a team, intent on delivering the best service possible. Toni knew he wanted the company’s culture to inspire personal contributions—and to reciprocate by giving back, helping people achieve their individual goals. His instinct was that a company excellent on the inside would achieve excellence in the marketplace. And he was right.

Toni keeps busy away from work with hockey, soccer and weight training. He is keenly interested in business and in technology. The greatest passions in his life, of course, are his friends and family.
