For Fran Proulx, excelHR is something of a family affair. Her father has been a client of the company for more than a decade; based on his positive experience, he suggested she consider joining as a First Impressions Specialist. "I'm so glad he did," she says. "I've never worked anyplace where people are so committed to their work-and get along so well." While she's fun-loving and personable by nature, Fran takes her role very seriously. "Being a First Impressions Specialist I meet all candidates who apply, answer their questions, and help them understand the process." She acknowledges that candidates don't always know what to expect, especially if they have not worked with a staffing firm before. In her experience, the most reassuring thing to offer is the truth. What people want is a clear, straight-up explanation of how things work so that they can understand how they fit in-and with honesty being one of excelHR's core values, Fran is happy to deliver. "It's just one little way we help our candidates feel supported." Outside of work, Fran leads an active life. Snowboarding and kickboxing are two of her favourite pastimes, although she does settle long enough now and then to read or check out the latest movie.
