Ask the question, “What’s a typical day at excelHR?” and Danushka Chouloute will tell you there’s no such thing. She says she’s always excited by the prospect of learning something new every day. She takes her greatest joy from the process itself. “It’s the little things that give me the biggest smile; giving that great resume tip or that valuable piece of interview advice,” she says. That said, even where the “little things” are concerned, Danushka’s standards are high. “I’m my biggest critic. For me, the only option is putting in 110 percent effort all the time.” After spending any amount of time with Danushka, you can easily believe her when she says her family is full of comedians: laughter follows wherever she goes. Of course, you’re as likely to catch her singing as joking. Danushka’s colleagues often hear her walking down the hall serenading the office with her favourite melodies—just another proof of her lightness of spirit. Danushka is a graduate of Carleton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Law. When she’s not entertaining her colleagues at the office, she’s putting on a show for her friends and family by singing, dancing, and writing poetry.
