A busy staffing consultant is bound to see a great many resumes in any given week. Antonia Rahneva says a good recruiter can identify the unique strengths of each one. “You need to always be alert to the details that signal a person could be the right match for a specific job,” she says. Given her innate interest in people, keeping an eye out for such distinctions comes naturally. Whether reviewing resumes to interviewing candidates or meeting with clients, Antonia is happy to say that no two days are ever the same at excel. “There’s such diversity in this work, you’re always interested, always engaged.” She knows she’s not alone in how she feels about the job, pointing out that all her colleagues have the same orientation. “Dedication, professionalism, competency and honesty,” she recites, “they’re truly common values within this team.” Antonia’s interest in people stems partly from her experience as a world traveler. “I love experiencing different cultures and meeting interesting people—it’s such a thrill,” she says. Her favorite travel destinations have included Thailand, Myanmar, and France so far, and she hopes to visit Brazil in the future.
